Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is Private-Money?
"Private-money" is just another term for PayCredits.
-
What are PayCredits?
PayCredits are USD-pegged units on the ValueCache platform, that a business (the issuer) can issue into existence.
When you present PayCredits to a business as payment, the business is contractually obligated to accept the PayCredits it issues on an "as-good-as-cash" basis per contract terms.
It is important to note that only the business that issues the PayCredits is responsible for the accepting it as payment. We do not guarantee that any business would honor its obligation, or be in business when a PayCredits holder seeks to spend it at the issuer. It is up to the holder of the PayCredits to ascertain that they can be spent at that the business that the holder intends to spend it at. -
How Can I Spend PayCredits?
If you have a PayCredits balance for a specific business, and you want to spend a portion of that balance to pay that business, you create a Charge Code against that balance.
The business accepts the payment by submitting the Charge Code and your ValueCache ID to the ValueCache platform, then your PayCredits balance is adjusted downwards by the amount spent through that Charge Code. -
Do PayCredits Expire?
Yes, they do expire.
PayCredits expire within 12 to 15 months after being issued into existence. PayCredits must be spent before they expire. Sending or receiving PayCredits already in existence does not reset the expiration date. Expired PayCredits are automatically removed from your ValueCache account and revert to being Post Credits. -
